Variety is integral to the brand's success as it branches out in different directions
Swiss watchmaker Longines has proved just how versatile it can be by coming up with a collection of new models to suit every personality and taste.
'We are a multiline brand,' said Walter von Kanel, president of Longines. 'We focus on bringing out the elegance, originality and tradition of our three different lines.'
These are the Longines Sport Collection, Les Elegantes de Longines and the Longines Master Collection. The variety provided by these collections is integral to the brand's success, given that the company sees itself as an 'emotionally branded consumer goods' firm, according to Mr von Kanel.
'Today, a watch is less a timepiece than it is a symbol,' he said. Those looking to express their individuality will not be at a loss when looking through this season's new models.
Sports fans will find everything they need in the new Conquest Ceramic model from the Longines Sport Collection. The watch is water-resistant to 300 metres, ideal for diving and other water activities, while its screw-in crown and case back, and its triple folding safety clasp, protect the watch from vigorous movement. The ceramic-coated stainless steel bezel provides a smooth, clean finish, while protecting the watch surface from possible scratches sustained by physical activity. The chronograph has 30-minute and 12-hour counters at 12o'clock and 6o'clock, small seconds at 9o'clock and a date window at 3o'clock. The bezel comes in black, white or grey paired with a black lacquered, white mother-of-pearl or sun-brushed grey dial.
