The latest eye-catching special editions in the collection are perfect for life in the fast lane

It was hard to ignore the racing car parked in the middle of the Links of London booth at BaselWorld. The eye-catching Formula Three car belonged to Henry Arundel, the next earl of Arundel and racing enthusiast, for whom Links of London has designed a new watch to celebrate his debut season in the British Formula Three championship this year.

In addition to this watch, the brand is also introducing a number of new editions to the watch collection that it launched last autumn, including the company's first limited edition collection. One of these is the Driver Chicane line, which includes a watch design that would suit motor sports enthusiasts perfectly.

The Driver Chicane Automatic comes in steel or black PVD, with the hour counter on the top left, the minute counter on the top right and the second counter in the centre, overlapping the two. Small 'petrol gauge' AM and PM dials are situated below, complete with ornamental 'full' and 'empty' indicators. The overall effect is designed to resemble a racing car's dashboard.

The second design in the edition is the Driver Chicane Chronograph, which is designed specifically for Henry Arundel and his pending races. The watch is PVD-coated and comes in two sizes, with hour, minute and second counters at 2o'clock, 6o'clock and 10o'clock, and a date indicator at 4o'clock.

Chronograph fans will find even more variety in the new Driver Ellipse Chronograph edition. The same counters and indicators are included, but are designed with a classic, rather than sporty, look. Straps are in calf or crocodile leather, and the dials are available in black, steel, aqua mother-of-pearl and pink mother-of-pearl.
