A new generation of big, bold and beautiful watches is set to trigger plenty of interest As a watchmaker with a stronger emphasis on design than mechanical workings, Graham watches always stand out in a crowd for being large, substantial pieces. The new Chronofighter RAC Trigger is a third generation watch in the Chronofighter series, and comes with a fresh interpretation of the 'drive left' start/stop chronograph lever. In black PVD carbide, the left-hand trigger - a characteristically quirky aspect of the design spirit of Graham - is integrated with a reset push button. Other features include a 46mm case, and Graham's distinctive and oversized numerals at the 12o'clock and 6o'clock positions. Minute and second counters sit at 3o'clock and 9o'clock respectively. The date window is framed by magnified crystal for easy reading. The watch has a transparent case back, allowing the owner to see the automatic column-wheel movement, and has a 42-hour power reserve. The Trigger is available in stainless steel, red gold, and stainless steel with red gold. Other new additions this year include the Chronofighter Oversize GMT Big Date BRG (British Racing Green) model. As its name suggests, this year's version comes with a new green featured on the bezel and on the chronograph counters. The large GMT hand, distinguished by its red arrow, displays a 24 hours second time zone which is indicated on the outer bezel - the green half indicates daytime, the black half indicates nighttime. The green dial houses a minute counter at the 9o'clock position and a second counter at 3o'clock. Arabic numerals are superluminova coated and there is a large double-date disc on the dial. The watch features the signature Graham left-hand lever to operate the chronograph functions. Its case measures 47mm. Finally comes the Swordfish Ali Baba, a watch designed for women, set with hundreds of gemstones. Still large at 46mm and with the Swordfish trademark chronograph counters on the dial, emphasised by two domed-sapphire crystals, the watch is set with 358 stones. They include precious stones such as diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires, and semi-precious mandarin garnets. The stones are set against a white mother-of-pearl dial, white crocodile strap and stainless steel case. The watch is limited to 40 pieces (in reference to the 40 thieves in the Ali Baba story) and is expected to be available in June. This one is definitely a watch for the daring and gregarious of character.
