Affordable quality Bulova
Collectors need look no further for reasonably priced classic mechanical timepieces
Quality and affordability don't always come hand in hand, but Bulova continues its tradition of producing popular classic mechanical timepieces at prices that won't break the bank.
'Our target market consists mainly of business executives or new collectors looking for the best possible watch at a reasonable price,' said Allen Lau, executive vice-president of Mira Watch, the sole agent of Bulova in China.
One of the watches in the Ladies Diamond collection, for example, is paved with 1.5 carats worth of diamonds on the case and comes with two detachable straps manufactured by the same company that Cartier uses for its watches.
The straps are satin and come in blue and black, and the watch costs HK$29,900.
Those looking for a day watch with little less sparkle can go for some of the more classic timepiece options in the Bulova Premier collection. The series is distinguished by the 1875 marking (the year Bulova was founded) under the brand name on the dial face, and consists of the gold series, diamond series and ceramic series. Pieces are between HK$6,000 and HK$10,000, and the new automatic ladies' watch from the ceramic series is well-priced at HK$8,800. In keeping with the ceramic trend over the past few years, this piece is made with white ceramic, electroplated with rose gold around the bezel and on the bracelet.
