Oil paintings and calligraphy worth more than HK$60million will be showcased at two special pavilions during the 3rd AIAA Fair.
More than 20 artworks from such renowned painters as Chen Yifei, Xin Dongwang, Xu Weixin, Chen Yiming, Guan Qijun, Zhang Guofang, Zheng Yi, Tsui Tinyun and others will be on display at the Chinese Classic Oil Painting Pavilion.
The treasures include Chen Yifei's The Flutist (1987), which will be exhibited in Hong Kong for the first time and was one of his last masterpieces. The painting formed a major part of Chen's solo exhibition at New York's Hammer Galleries in 1988.
The Chinese Calligraphy Pavilion will display more than 20 valuable works by such celebrated contemporary artists as Li Yansheng, Cui Ruzhuo, Xue Liang and Shi Qi.
One of the aims of establishing the pavilion is to enable visitors to gain a greater appreciation of the different forms of Chinese calligraphy and classic oil paintings. To help achieve this, calligraphy artists Li Yansheng and Cui Ruzhuo, together with painters Xu Weixin, Chen Yiming, Zheng Yi and Tsui Tinyun, will be visiting the pavilions to share their views.
Many of the pieces will be on display in Hong Kong for the first time.
