The supply chain management arm of a global transport company, engaged in shipping and related businesses, is looking to recruit a manager, sales and key account management. APL Logistics, the subsidiary of Singapore-based Neptune Orient Lines, provides a broad range of international logistics services and end-to-end supply chain management in a worldwide network of offices. 'This position will be responsible for the Hong Kong and South China sales, and Greater China key account management,' said Carol Chan, human resources manager of Hong Kong and South China region at APL Logistics. 'It will focus on leading sales efforts for international and retail customers in Hong Kong and South China, and developing and maintaining those APL Logistics' key accounts in Greater China which are assigned to the person,' Ms Chan said, adding that among other roles, 'you will be required to achieve sales targets, and develop strategies for new and existing international and retail customers to meet corporate and regional financial revenue, and profitability targets'. Working alongside engineering and operations teams to develop solutions for new and existing customers is also to be expected. Whoever lands this role will also implement regional account management strategies in relation to the large account management programme. Other duties include leading in the development or implementation of international customer strategies in the region. 'You will also conduct business reviews, analyse and identify business opportunities and potential risks, and initiate the appropriate recommendation to management, with a view to improving service quality and increasing work efficiency and customer growth,' Ms Chan said. Other duties range from supporting the implementation of new services for existing accounts to ensuring the effective, efficient and timely delivery of customer commitments. The successful candidate will also have to participate in customer-sponsored service development programmes and manage customer performance reviews, develop and maintain account profiles and ensure the alignment of account maintenance and growth objectives. The incumbent will formulate action plans with location and country operations teams. Candidates are expected to hold a degree or the equivalent, and have at least seven years' experience in a logistics environment. A track record in sales and large account management is important, alongside fluent spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
