A baffling change of heart from officials was the highlight of the day for Chinese hurdlers at the Olympic test event at the Bird's Nest yesterday. Referees overturned Huang Xiaoxiao's 54.50 second victory in the women's 400-metre race, only to reverse the decision an hour later without explanation. 'I was told I fouled on my skipping move, which I didn't,' said Huang, the Asian Games champion. An official said Huang skipped three hurdles from outside her lane. But she appeared on the top step of the podium an hour after the race. Liu Xiang also ran into trouble. He jump started in the second heat of his specialty 110-metre high hurdles. But he got his act together, clocking a group-leading 13.47 and advanced to the final. 'Everything was fine except that people chanted my name too much,' Liu said. 'I beg them to let me concentrate on the race more next time.'
