Alexander Verge, 18 I love animals. I'm pretty much the Michael Jordan of animal lovers. I used to have a huge snail farm with over 230 snails. I even won awards for it. But after my largest snail, Hubert, died, it wasn't the same, so I quit the snail business. But I still love animals. Becky Wong, 15 I think so. Although I've never had a pet, I think they're cute. Of course, there are some animals I don't like much, such as snakes and lizards. However, I think attacking or mistreating animals is never acceptable. Animals should be protected and never abandoned. We need to think twice before we get a pet. Christy Leung, 14 Yes - I think animals are just like humans. They should also be respected and their rights protected. I get really angry when I hear that people have abandoned or abused their pets. Animals deserve to be loved. We should live in harmony with our furry friends. Danielle Wong, 15 Definitely, I love animals. When I was younger, I wanted to become a vet. I'm not allowed to have a dog where I live, but if I could, I would. At the moment, I have five fish. Jonathan Tam, 16 Yes, and I especially love dogs. When I see a dog, I have the urge to go up and stroke it. At home, I have a little Pomeranian and four cats, two of which were found abandoned. But my dog was recently bitten by an older dog, which upset me since he now has two holes in his back. Savannah Betts, 16 I love animals, although I'm not animal-obsessed. I've had so many pets and I've mainly grown up with cats and dogs around me, but I find it interesting to observe how different individual animals are. They have human-like characteristics and that makes them all the more intriguing - they always find new ways to surprise me. Katrina Weiss, 16 I don't live for animals like some people, but I do respect them. I'm disgusted when I see animals treated cruelly - they have the right to live as peacefully as we do. I think it's selfish of some people to think they're superior to animals, just because we've seemingly dominated the world. There's still a lot we don't know about them, and besides, animals don't destroy the Earth.
