What do you think of the height restrictions in Tsim Sha Tsui?

As someone born and brought up in Tsim Sha Tsui, I think the building-height restrictions are a welcome move ('Iconic tower to be shrunk after PolyU forgoes appeal', May 28).

In the past two decades the increase in temperature and the lack of wind caused by proliferation of high-rises has led to a deterioration in the quality of life in Tsim Sha Tsui. This problem has been compounded by the increase in population, so it is sometimes difficult simply to enjoy a walk on the street.

I hope the height limits can be further tightened. I wish more people would relocate to new towns like Tseung Kwan O and Tung Chung, otherwise taxpayers' money would have been wasted developing the necessary infrastructure for the expected population.

Tsim Sha Tsui is now overwhelmed by local people and tourists.

I wish the government would, for a change, try to come up with policies to improve the quality of life for Hong Kong residents.
