Tune in on Sunday afternoons to hear interviews on the Olympics from around the world
The Beijing Olympics are around the corner and to get Hongkongers in the mood, RTHK has brought a new programme, Olympics Around The World, to the airwaves.
Based on the theme of this year's Games, 'One World, One Dream', the RTHK team has travelled the world, interviewing people to get their thoughts on the Games. The aim of the programme is to give local listeners a better understanding of what the Olympic spirit means.
The team has been to Beijing, South Korea, London, Canada, Australia and Brazil.
Executive programme producer Jace Au Lai-ngar said they came up with the idea to find Olympic stories a year ago.
'We sent our producers off to explore and experience the effects of the Olympics. And we have done our best to produce a show that will give listeners various insights into the Games,' Au said.
On Sunday, producer and presenter Tanner Lee will take listeners with her to South Korea. She wants to show people how sport has developed and has spoken to young athletes from the mainland, Hong Kong and South Korea. 'In Hong Kong, people think studying is the normal way of life and that sport is just for leisure. The situation is very different in the mainland and South Korea,' Lee said.
