Consumer watchdogs have been fighting for years for more accurate representation of flat sales information but developers just become more shameless and tacky by the day. Most ads on TV or in print have a penchant for portraying European aristocrats on horseback or at masquerade balls in palaces and castles. So it's a refreshing change with a latest promotion from Cheung Kong (Holdings) - developer of Celestial Heights - which actually features a model in modern clothes. But wait, what's this gorgeous cityscape (pictured) behind her? It's not Hong Kong; probably a European city at nighttime. 'A proud view of the entire city,' the ad says. 'At the tip-top of the pinnacle'. Maybe the flats make you hallucinate about being in Europe? Nevertheless, more than 210 flats were sold last weekend alone at an average of HK$13,800 per square foot. We suppose buyers actually don't mind the view, which features full, unobstructed views of Lok Man Sun Chuen, one of the oldest public estates. Surely it's an august address that says you have arrived!
