If you're fed up with the Euro-centric World's 50 Best Restaurants list that comes out each year - for which not a single place in Asia was considered good enough - take a few minutes to cast your votes for your favourite eateries in the region. The first Miele Guide to the best restaurants in Asia is taking online votes now. A shortlist of the best restaurants in various Asian cities was compiled by a team of 90 food critics - including this writer for Hong Kong. The public is being asked to vote online, choosing either from the shortlist or adding their own nominations. After the voting ends, on July 31, the Miele team, with the help of contributing editors, will pay anonymous visits to the places that garnered the most votes. The Miele Guide of the top 20 restaurants in Asia is scheduled to be published in October.
