A soccer 'festival' is being held in Langham Place to get Hongkongers in the mood for the 2008 Uefa European Football Championships.

Sponsored by German sportswear manufacturer adidas, the event - which includes a competition based on an interactive football game - was launched on May 28 and runs until June 15 at the Mong Kok shopping mall. It is the first such activity to be held in Hong Kong.

Euro 2008 - the continent's premier football tournament held every four years - will take place in Austria and Switzerland from June 7-29.

'By organising the adidas Euro 2008TM Together as one Football Competition, we invite all Hong Kong football fans to enjoy this long-anticipated sporting event with us and share the excitement of Euro fever together,' said Adrian Siu, general manager of adidas Hong Kong at the launching ceremony on May 28.
