Plan for waste

AN underground store is being planned to deal with a 25 per cent increase in waste expected on Hong Kong Island by 2000. But legislators yesterday asked whether the store, costing $957 million at 1993 prices, was needed and said the Government should consider cheaper options, such as a transfer station above ground.
