Extension for dinosaur exhibition
THE ''Dinosaurs Alive!'' exhibition has been extended by two months due to overwhelming public response to the display at the Hong Kong Science Museum, Since last November, over 220,000 people have visited the show, which will now be open until May 8.
''The exhibition provides visitors with the latest information about dinosaurs, particularly the intriguing secrets related to their mysterious extinction,'' said a spokesman for the Urban Services Department.
''Some visitors have been so impressed by the eight life-like robotic dinosaurs that they have returned several times. Other attractions include the special sound and lighting effects of the pre-historic era, informative and entertaining hands-on exhibits, computer games, and multi-media audio-visual programmes.
The exhibition has been complemented by a touch of art. Fifty drawings by children aged between 10 and 12 are now on display in the museum's main lobby.
The drawings are the winning entries of the recent ''Dinosaurs World'' competition.
More than 700 primary pupils from 21 schools took part, demonstrating their creativity and drawing skills using pastels, crayons and water colours.
