Messaging is a very popular method of communication in the 21st century. Everyone sends messages from their mobile phones to friends, or to celebrate special festivals.
Text messaging is a boon to me. Friends send me instant messages when I can't answer the phone and it really saves time. And you can store messages, so you can reread them whenever you like - a phone conversation is gone once the call has ended.
I'm touched when I receive messages at Lunar New Year or Christmas. They remind me my friends care for me, and then I can return the sentiment.
Messaging undoubtedly enhances the relationship between people, allowing them more contact.
But messaging also reduces the amount of face-to-face contact we have and weakens direct communication.
