Appeal over missing 11-year-old
Police yesterday appealed for help in finding 11-year-old Chan Tak-wai, who went missing from his home in Upper Wong Tai Sin Estate on Monday. He is about 1.65 metres tall, weighs 55kg and is of slim build. He was wearing a black T-shirt, black knee-length trousers and white sandals. Anyone with information can call 2352 9400.
Worker burned after fuel ignites
A worker suffered burns to his right leg and two hands trying to put out a fire on a construction site in Kowloon Bay yesterday. A bucket of petrol caught fire while the man, 42, was repairing a machine on the Cheung Yip Street site at about 11.30am. Firemen doused the flames. The victim was in stable condition in Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Elderly pedestrian hit by van
A 76-year-old woman was knocked down by a van reversing from Old Bailey Street into Chancery Lane, Central, at 1pm. She was hit in Chancery Lane and suffered injuries to her limbs and face. She was taken to Queen Mary Hospital.
