After months of speculation, the iPhone, upgraded and supercharged with high-speed 3G and other neat features, is finally due in Hong Kong - by July.
The biggest improvement, as you might have heard, is the inclusion of 3G and even HSDPA. This not only means faster downloads, but also that it now works in Japan and Korea.
In addition to the rest of the wireless connectivity offered by the old model, such as GSM, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the new model also offers GPS to access maps for directions and location information.
For e-mail addicts, the new model now offers 'push e-mail' - communication capabilities a la the Blackberry.
Unlike the iPod, where each generation has looked significantly different from the previous one, the new iPhone looks basically the same as the old model, except that it's slightly thinner at the edge, and a little bulkier in the middle.
Despite the technological advances of 3G, there's only a single, 2-megapixel camera so you can't make video calls.
