Trainer Tony Millard was declaring it the ride of Vincent Sit Shin-keung's season after Sounds Fantastic landed a long-priced plunge in the Centurion Restaurant And Bar handicap (1,650m).

Sounds Fantastic trimmed up from over 80-1 to start 44-1 before looping around the field late in the piece to win the Class Three on the all-weather track, going away from Rocket Win and delivering Sit's 10th success for the term.

'That's what people need to see - these local jockeys can ride but they need the horse underneath them and that's where it's so difficult for them riding against so many big-name expats,' a delighted Millard said. 'That was the ride of the season for Vincent and nobody could have ridden it better.

'He came out positively, hoping to lead, but when it wasn't possible he made good decisions and went back on the horse and saved him for a late run. He did absolutely everything right.'

Sit went back to the rear when the pace was solid but was able to find a good trail into the race behind eventual third placegetter Global Win (Zac Purton) rounding the home turn, then let a featherweight handicap play its part.

'We know the horse handles the dirt because he had run so well on it before he won at Happy Valley,' Millard recalled.
