Carmel Bunnan Tong Memorial Secondary School
The English Society of Carmel Bunnan Tong Memorial Secondary School organised a lunchtime concert on May 21 to raise funds for the victims of the disastrous earthquake in Sichuan  . Enthusiastic teachers and students sang songs and played music in a band.
The performance was brilliant and both performers and audience were impressed by the upbeat atmosphere. The students were extremely motivated to raise funds for the victims.  Living in Hong Kong, we have never suffered from such a disaster, making us a blessed group of people. Many people all over the world are not so fortunate.
Although the concert only lasted for 25 minutes, it raised HK$10,223 for the earthquake victims, and sent a significant message to the students: treasure everything you have in life.

Yu Chun Keung  Memorial College No. 2
Yu Chun Keung held its 25th graduation ceremony on May 31. It was well attended by Form Five and Form Seven students and their parents.
The school's founder, Sister Rosangela Cesati, officiated at the ceremony and in her speech she encouraged graduates to make a difference in their own lives and the lives of others.
Principal William Yip's report focused on three main areas: enhancing learning effectiveness, broadening students' horizons and bolstering self-confidence.
The student performance - School Life Reflections - was a wonderful drama with beautiful songs by the junior choir. After the show the students presented mementoes to parents and teachers.
Kowloon Sam Yuk Secondary School
Kowloon Sam Yuk Secondary School (KSYSS) held a joint-school mock HKCEE exam earlier this month. This is the second year that KSYSS has hosted the event, designed to prepare candidates for the actual exam situation.
The event was based on the 07-08 HKCEE English Language syllabus, with English language discussions held within groups of three to four members.
Teachers acted as the examiners, overseeing and evaluating students' performance. Advice was given to help the students improve their performance.
'This is a precious opportunity for me to understand the real HKCEE oral exam. I find it is very helpful,' a participating student commented.
'Both students and teachers are serious about this mock test,' another said. Because of the  encouraging feedback, the organisers will continue the event next year, if resources allow.
Due to the success of last year's event, to which two other schools were invited, KSYSS decided to  expand the event this year, with about 100 students from three other schools - Yan Chai Hospital Wong Wha Shan Secondary School, SKH All Saints' Middle School and Newman Catholic College - taking part.
