Singer Kelly Chen Wai-lam has announced she will marry long-time boyfriend Alex Lau Kin-ho, although no wedding date has been confirmed.
Chen (left), 35, the last singer to perform at the Coliseum before it closed for six months of refurbishing, told fans at her last concert there on Wednesday night.
'Tonight is my last concert here at the Coliseum before the renovation, I feel I have completed a big, big task ... but there is another even bigger task that I am going to accomplish ... I am getting married!'
After a round of applause from the audience, Chen said: 'It has been very difficult for me to have kept this secret for so long and I am so happy that now I can finally say it.'
After 13 years in show business, Chen reassured fans she would not be retiring.
Chen and Lau, 35, had been a couple for more than 15 years and Hong Kong media dubbed their relationship a 'marathon love'. But there was a little hiccup in 1998 at the pinnacle of Chen's career. She said she couldn't dedicate enough time to the relationship so they broke up for a year before reuniting.
