Lamex posts 28pc jump

FURNITURE group Lamex Holdings has posted a 28 per cent rise in interim profits to $24.6 million for the six months to October 31.

Earnings per share climbed to 9.84 cents on increased turnover of $285 million, compared with 9.58 cents for the same period in 1992.

Lamex's directors have proposed paying an interim dividend of three cents a share.
