Old-school rock fuels Lenny Kravitz's new album It Is Time For A Love Revolution, probably his best release to date. The album has brought Kravitz his best reviews in years.
The 14 tracks show Kravitz's ability to absorb another artist's style, merge it with his own and produce something that's totally original yet which pays homage to his idols.
The limited-edition deluxe package contains a bonus DVD that has five videos of the rock star discussing his tracks on his new album and what inspired him to write them.
Also included are eight music videos from earlier albums.
The album is heavily influenced by late 60s/ early 70s classic rock, from the psychedelic opening and title track Love Revolution to the David Bowie and Rolling Stone-esque Dancin' Til Dawn.
Bring It On is a bluesy, Led Zeppelin-style rock number with an incredible guitar solo.
Fourth track Love Love Love has a noticeable Red Hot Chilli Peppers flavour to it.
You'll find yourself singing the Beatles-sounding Good Morning, especially with its cheery refrain 'Top of the morning to ya'.
The old-school rock influences make this album worth the investment. It's an impressive return for the American rocker.
