Krystal Meyers was born under a lucky star. As she prepares for the release of her third album Make Some Noise, the 20-year-old American singer has already made her name in the music business.

But there is something different about Krystal.

As a devout Christian, she aims to send out positive messages through her music.

'I don't mean to command anybody or push my belief on to anyone. I don't think that would accomplish anything. But I am a positive person, and to me my music is about who I am. So when people listen to my songs and ask questions like 'where does it all come from?', I can talk about my faith,' explains Krystal.

In fact, Krystal's songs touch topics that few teen pop idols cover. One of her best-selling singles, Anticonformity, is a warning to teenagers who blindly follow peer pressure. Another song, The Situation, talks about premarital sex.

'It just comes down to what I believe. I had lots of friends in high school get pregnant before they were 18. One of them married, but two or three faced it alone, as the guys left,' she says.

'There is so much pressure out there, but I didn't give in to it. In high school and college there were so many people putting pressure on me to do things that aren't good for me. And now I'm not out there partying like crazy in Hollywood, doing sex or drugs or alcohol. I don't think they accomplish anything.
