What do you think of the cable car's operation?

I would like to thank Agnus Hilda Song and H. C. Bee for their support and comments (Talkback, June 26) in relation to the Ngong Ping 360 cable car service.

Safety is always our first priority in operating the cable car system. A sophisticated sensor system is installed as part of the fail-safe design. On the detection of any irregularity, the system will bring the cable car operation safely to a stop. A detailed inspection will be immediately conducted and service will resume only after our engineers are satisfied that all systems are operating normally.

We fully understand that stoppages in service will cause inconvenience and disappointment to our guests. As such, we strive to ensure our visitors are kept informed of any changes in the cable car service by providing information in a number of different ways, including public announcements at cable car terminals and in cabins, postings on our website and notifications to the media.

For guests arriving via the MTR, a standard arrangement is in place for notices to be put up in front of the entry gates at all MTR stations in the event of a service change.

Public broadcasts are also made at stations along the Tung Chung Line.

We would like to again thank your readers for their comments, which are valuable in helping us to seek continuous improvements in offering a fun and enjoyable experience for guests.
