Worker killed in fall from scaffolding

A worker, 59, died after falling from scaffolding outside a fifth-floor flat in North Point yesterday. The man, surnamed Ching, was working on an outer wall when the accident happened at 3.15pm, police said. He fell on to the first-floor canopy, suffering serious head injuries. Doctors at Eastern Hospital declared him dead at 3.37pm. Police said they found nothing suspicious and the Labour Department was following up the case.
