HKU launches mobile learning platform via campus WiFi for tech-savvy students

The University of Hong Kong has launched a mobile learning platform that enables students to obtain course materials and check results using their mobile phones, PDAs and hand-held game gadgets through on-campus WiFi networks. The platform has been used in some course teaching and there are plans for this to be expanded.

Course on issues over care for the elderly

University of Hong Kong's Sau Po Centre on Ageing will hold a short course on legal and ethical issues relating to taking care of the elderly. The course, designed for health care and social services professionals, will cover issues such as euthanasia, negligence and controversies over wills. Space exploration tools on show

Polytechnic University will showcase a batch of sampling tools for space exploration developed by its researchers, during an exhibition running from today until September 26. Several PolyU and overseas experts will also talk about exploration of possible signs of life in outer space and health issues concerning astronauts during a seminar today.
