In the new computer-animated Disney-Pixar movie Wall-E, robots 700 years from now are depicted as sophisticated workers designed to help with every human task. But a ScienCentral News video on YouTube (keywords: 'the real Wall-E') shows that the film's premise is already a reality. Researchers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, in the United States, have built uBot-5, which moves on wheels, sees the world through its Web cam and interacts with humans via a touch-screen LCD. As a robotic maid, its functions are focused on bringing effective and sensitive care to the elderly.
