Popular J-pop idol Aragaki Yui's first album Sora (Sky) debuted at number three on the Oricon charts. Not only a famous young actress but also a radio and TV presenter, seiyu (voice actress) and former model, Yui is considered one of Japan's most beautiful celebrities.
The album contains 10 songs, two of which were used on the soundtrack of the movie Koizora. Opener Heavenly Days is a mid-tempo ballad that doesn't really test her girlie vocals. The musical arrangement features a pleasant piano intro and synth machine. Orange is an uptempo track that lacks the 'wow' factor and is nothing that you wouldn't hear at a karaoke.
The whole album is similar - each track just melts into the next and by the fifth number you'll be ready to switch off through sheer boredom. Hopefully the talented starlet's next album will show more artistic bravery.
