Edison Chen's father involved in loan dispute

Businessman Edward Chan Chak-man, father of singer-actor Edison Chen Koon-hei, is involved in a HK$20 million loan dispute between Bank of China and a company, according to a writ filed in the High Court on Monday. The bank is suing Skillion Properties for repayment of a HK$19 million loan plus interest. It says a loan facility of HK$23.5 million was provided to the company in December 2000, with Edward Chan as the guarantor. As of May 23, the company still owed the bank HK$19 million, it says.
