Golden Gate Wine will have a French vs American wine tasting dinner today at the Hong Kong Country Club in Deep Water Bay. The five-course meal includes roasted duck breast and garlic sausage with pecorino and pea risotto, paired with the Domaine de la Solitude Pessac-Leognan 2005 vs the Hanna Winery Sauvignon Blanc 2007 and a main course of medallions of American beef tenderloin, served with the Antinori Guyon Chambolle-Musigny 2004 vs the Elk Cove Pinot Noir Mt Richmond 2005. La Brasserie at the Marco Polo Gateway in Tsim Sha Tsui is featuring lobster on its set menu until the end of the month. The six-course meal includes lobster carpaccio with olive oil, lemon juice and tomato-basil salad, flambeed creamy lobster bisque with cognac and lobster-porcini ravioli and three main courses: lobster claw and sage in beer batter and aioli sauce, lobster souffle with lobster meat in sea urchin cream sauce and a half tail stuffed with asparagus and black truffles. Guest chefs from the Jinling Hotel in Nanjing will be cooking Jiangsu cuisine at two outlets of the Royal Garden in Tsim Sha Tsui. Guests at the Royal Garden Chinese Restaurant and Dong Lai Shun can taste dishes such as Jinling salted duck, braised perch with bean curd sauce (above), quick-boiled Mandarin fish balls with bean milk and rain flower dumplings.
