I'd like to try eyelash extensions. I've tried false eyelashes but they always look so cheap. My eyes are sensitive so I need professional help.

The Dictator rules: Professional help? And I was about to recommend you let an amateur poke around your eyes. As if! There are a few individuals in town who offer this service but reviews are mixed, so I'd advise you use one of the many trusted spas that offer eyelash extensions. Elemis (9/F, Century Square, 1 D'Aguilar Street, Central, tel: 2521 6660) charges HK$880 to apply fibre lashes in 60 to 75 minutes. Mu-Lan Spa (18/F, Century Square, tel: 3102 0208) uses lashes from South Korea and will apply them in an hour for HK$750. One of the first spas to offer eyelash extensions, Beaute Par Zai (suite 901, Queen's Place, 74 Queen's Road Central, tel: 2524 1272), uses natural hair for the 90-minute service and charges HK$790. Spatacular (12/F, California Entertainment Building, 34 D'Aguilar Street, tel: 2521 1918; www.spatacular.com. hk) uses synthetic lashes and you can expect to spend about HK$500 and two hours for the service.

Now, if you have genuinely sensitive eyes, this might not be the best idea. Instead, we'd recommend the lash bar at Shu Uemura boutiques around Hong Kong (such as shop 129, Pacific Place, Admiralty, tel: 2918 1238), where false eyelashes are poles apart from the cheap, costumey types you know.

I'd like some of those 1970s-style jeans that stars such as Sienna Miller have been wearing. All I seem to be able to find are skinny or boot cut models and they still have low waists. Any advice?
