THE centre page cartoon with Mr Patten in a ''superman'' suit, holding a ''reform bill'' flag and leading the British cabinet (South China Morning Post, January 25) was the best of Best for a long time.

  A variation I might suggest would be to have Mr Patten in a Santa Claus outfit as he did arrive here, as I remember, promising something, for more or less everyone.
