Famous blogger and online English teacher Siu Hoi-yat has recently taken his popular blog 'It all starts with the F-word' into book form in order to share his views on language learning with a greater readership.
Mr Siu's blog was named Best Education Blog at last year's Blog Awards, organised by the China Times in Taiwan. The consistently high number of hits convinced Mr Siu to collect his blog entries and create a book.
'My book is a collection of some of my blog entries and column articles. It's not a conventional English learning book, in the sense that it doesn't actually teach any substantive knowledge,' Mr Siu, popularly known as Siu Sir, said.
'But in the book I share with my readers what I think is the right attitude towards language learning.'
Mr Siu said his book is targeted at students who are passionate about learning English.
'I think the English-learning culture in Hong Kong is very bad. The kind of English education offered by tutorial schools doesn't encourage the right language-learning attitude.
