After her well-received debut, last year's Lonely Flower, mainland-born singer and actress Yuan Quan now sets her sights on the Taiwanese music charts.
Already starring in a new TV drama with Daniel Wu Yin-Jo, Yuan is steadily increasing her profile and popularity on the island.
Her latest four-track EP, Short Stay No 1 Taipei, was inspired by a four-day trip to the city. There Yuan collaborated with a variety of local talent, creating songs, pictures and some documentary footage, all depicting the life and romance of Taipei.
The opening track, Baby Sleep, is an acoustic guitar-based lullaby, composed and written by singer Europa Huang, and featuring Yuan's calming whisper. The next song, Wait, is the highlight of the EP. Wu Ching-feng, vocalist of Sodagreen, wrote this upbeat love song.
In addition to the music, the EP comes complete with a documentary and seven postcards.
