How Lam embraced her inner tomboy

Actress Karena Lam Ka-yan says locking lips with girls on screen is less embarrassing than doing it with guys.

In her latest lesbian love movie, Candy Rain, Lam, for the first time, plays a tomboy with too many girlfriends.

'You may think playing a lesbian is much harder or more embarrassing, but actually it's more comfortable. With girls, we understand that it's all for the sake of the film,' says Lam (left).

In order to hide her more feminine features, she had to wear a tight vest around her chest during shoots.

'When I first put it on, my boobs were so flat. I started acting really nasty - very manly. My gestures and the way I talked were really different from the real me. The first fitting really gave me a strong feeling for the character,' Lam says.

Despite the tight vest, she also had to endure being beaten up by her furious 'girlfriends'.
