Two 18-year-olds who joined forces with a primary schoolgirl to carry out a series of premeditated violent and dishonest acts have been jailed for five years for their 'rampage of pure hooliganism'.

A District Court judge told Leung Mau-chung and Poon Ming yesterday that rehabilitation measures imposed after their many previous offences had been to no avail and they now had to go to jail.

The two men, both unemployed, pleaded guilty before Judge Susana D'Almada Remedios to eight charges including burglary, theft, robbery and handling stolen goods.

Their co-offender, then aged 11 and in Primary Six, also admitted her role and was convicted in a juvenile court last month.

The judge said that Leung and Poon had embarked on a rampage of pure hooliganism, dragging an under-age girl into their crimes.

The court heard they devised various fraudulent schemes to rob, steal and break into homes across Kowloon from January to March.

Six people who fell prey had lost more than HK$28,000 in cash and valuables before police caught one of them handling stolen goods.
