You will join forces with stage actress Kearen Pang to host a women's talk show, called Sleepless Potatoes, starting August 14. What's the programme about? Creator and performer Missy Hyper BB: 'As the title says, this talk show is about two sleepless actresses gossiping about men, politics and other interesting phenomena in today's society.
'Unlike my previous story-based stage plays, we don't have a plot, not even characters, this time. We want to present a world [as seen through] the eyes of Missy Hyper BB and Kearen Pang.
'Kearen and I find women tend to stay up late at night, [later] than men. For example, there are more gal friends online on MSN in the wee hours than guy friends. In convenience shops, there are more women clerks on night shifts than men. So we asked ourselves, why do women stay up later than men?
'So we started to extend the discussion about men and women and that's how our show started.
'Women's talk shows are not so common in Hong Kong. The ways women see the world are totally different from men's perceptions. Compared with male stand-up comedians, women can be more bitchy and pushy in presenting their opinions.
'Every day we rehearse the same thing but we always find something new to add to the show. A good atmosphere and active interaction with the audience make a good talk show.
