Fireflight, an American Christian rock band, released its sophomore album Unbreakable in March.

With a heavy emphasis on Christianity, the album successfully mixes religion-orientated lyrics, elements of rock and nu-metal and lead singer Dawn Richardson's poignant and expressive vocals to startlingly powerful effect.

The order of songs is particularly effective, opening with the strong title track, featured TV series Bionic Woman and concluding with the contrasting Wrapped In Your Arms, the most melodic of the 10 tracks. Heavier-sounding songs such as Stand Up and The Hunger evoke powerful emotions, while the quieter yet uplifting beats of single Brand New Day display the band's poppy side.

Despite being a controversial genre, viewed by many as sacrilegious, the number of Christian rocks band has steadily increased, and include Lifehouse and Switchfoot.

Fireflight may not be as strong as the album's title implies. While it's strong, Richardson's voice fails to distinguish itself from the throng of female talent around.

But this doesn't seem to have affected the band's growing fan base, or the album's steady climb up the Christian music charts.
