More than 380 patients have used a US$3 million computed tomography scanner at the Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital since last month. The hi-tech Aquilion One scanner can capture real-time images of an organ and deliver a 3D whole-organ scan in less than a second. Gladys Lo, radiologist-in-charge, said it had increased the speed and accuracy of diagnosis. The scanner is among at least 14 in use around the world since its launch last year.
