Sex worker assaulted, robbed
Police are hunting a South Asian man after a sex worker, 42, was pushed to the floor and robbed of HK$3,000 inside the bedroom of a one-woman brothel in Kimberley Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. He also pushed her female friend, 31, to the floor and fled. The older woman was bandaged at the scene but refused hospital treatment. The younger woman needed hospital treatment for minor head injuries.
Probation for negligent father
A father was placed on probation for one year yesterday for neglecting his 20-month-old son, who suffered burns after drinking a corrosive liquid while he was left alone at home. Chan Chi-ching, 37, was sentenced in Kwun Tong Court by Magistrate Albert Wong Sung-hau.
Vendors threaten one-day strike
Vendors at a Choi Ming wet market in Tseung Kwan O have threatened to shut their businesses for one day this week to press the Link Reit to renew their rental contracts. The stallholders met The Link after it dumped the market's management company, Goldrise Investment. Vendors said The Link signed a three-month contract, and they want a six-year contract.
