Safety system halts cable car

The Ngong Ping 360 cable car service was disrupted for 15 minutes just after noon yesterday when safety systems registered an irregular signal from a grip attaching a gondola to its overhead cable. A company spokesman said there was no evaluation of the number of passengers briefly stranded, but it was not a busy day. The gondola involved was kept empty for the rest of the day and would be checked overnight.
