Yoko Kamio created the well loved shojo (teen girl) manga Hana Yori Dango 16 years ago and the glamorous gang of boys known as F4 have enchanted generations of young girls ever since. Hana Yori Dango: Fainaru was created to mark the grand finale of the high-rating live-action TV series. Staring the same cast as the TV drama, the story begins with the wedding announcement of the wealthy Domyoji (Jun Matsumoto) and ordinary girl Makino (Mao Inoue). As is tradition, the bride-to-be is given an heirloom belonging to her future husband's family. But the tiara soon goes missing. With the help of other F4 members Rui, Sojiroh and Mimasaka, the couple embarks on a world-wide search, all the while getting to know themselves and each other better. Scenes of Hong Kong are unexpectedly well-shot, showing both the luxurious side of the city and the grassroots. The movie focuses almost entirely on the love affair between Domyoji and Makino, which may upset fans of the other boys, but pop star and TV actor cameos make up for this. The fairy-tale ending may be a little cheesy, but it will keep fans' minds off the fact their favourite story has come to an end. Hana Yori Dango: Fainaru is now showing
