Hong Kong's Tie Yana reached the semi-finals of the women's World Cup when she routed Kim Kyung-ah of South Korea in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. Playing in her first tournament since the Beijing Olympics, Tie (pictured) won all three matches in the group stage to reach the last eight, including a 4-1 win over top Singaporean Li Jiawei. But she needed to give her best against Kim in a 4-3 quarter-final victory, which set up a tough clash against another Singaporean, Feng Tianwei, in the semis. Feng upset top seed Guo Yue of China in their quarter-final with a 4-1 victory.
