SYNTHESISER and laser wizard Jean Michel Jarre - whose hi-tech son et lumiere will formally open the new Hong Kong Stadium next week - isn't the only bright spark in the Jarre family.
Madame Jarre, formerly the British actress Charlotte Rampling, who put her acting career on hold after marrying the French musician, has since become an author of some repute.
Her first novel, Coronet Among the Weeds, caused quite a stir in the London literary and social scene when it first came out.
Life in the Jarre farmhouse outside Paris must get her creative juices working nicely.
For Charlotte, who writes under the name Charlotte Bingham, has just finished another novel, Change of Heart, which will be published by Transworld/Doubleday (publishers to the British gentry, by the way, befitting former debutant Rampling) on June 30.
So, anyone anxious to make a good impression with the Jarres when they are here, now knows where to start.
