Man used sex videos as threat

A golf shop manager admitted threatening to publish nude photographs and videos of his former lover unless she continued to have sex with him, a court heard yesterday.

After the threat, the 21-year-old victim was taken to a love hotel in Kowloon Tong in January, in the belief that the photographs and videos would be returned to her afterwards.

Eddie Tang Yau-ying, 42, pleaded guilty in the District Court yesterday to one count of procurement by threats to do an unlawful sexual act. He pleaded not guilty to one count of criminal intimidation in relation to his threat to defame the victim. The prosecution agreed not to proceed with that charge.

Deputy Judge Bernadette Woo Huey Fang adjourned the case to today for mitigation and sentencing.

Prosecutor Gary Fung said yesterday that Tang first met the victim in 2006. The victim began working in Tang's golf shop in December 2006 and they started a relationship in April last year.

Mr Fung said the relationship broke down when Tang confessed the relationship to his cohabiting girlfriend, who was also a good friend of the victim.
