Should schools set up funds to buy textbooks?
Prices have been rising steadily in the past few months. Faced with this problem, different industries have had no choice but to increase the price of their products.
Parents and children were deeply concerned when they learned that the prices of school textbooks would be increased.
I think schools can help by using some of their funds to buy textbooks and this would make textbooks less expensive.
Schools could also use these funds to help out pupils from low-income families.
Poor parents often have to spend large part of their wages on books for their children's education.
And, schools could organise second-hand sales for students to purchase used books from older pupils who no longer need them. Statistics have shown that this year textbooks are more expensive than they were last year.
