A powerhouse in finance is sought to join US-listed AES - one of the world's largest power companies - as head of regional financial planning and analysis. Ambition is handling the high-profile appointment. Ambition manager in commerce and industry Jean-Pierre Green said: 'This is a critical hire and the incumbent will serve as a right-hand person to the chief financial officer and will be part of the senior management leadership team. '[The candidate] will cover the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East region and will be responsible for building a world-class commercial analysis and reporting team, doing the budgeting, planning and forecasting processes and supporting the CFO in formulating and presenting strategy.' Based in Singapore, the candidate should have between six and eight reports and spend more than 40 per cent of the time travelling across the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East visiting the operations and finance teams. The ideal candidate will have confidence, high energy, credibility, and the ability to contribute to thought leadership and think outside of the box. Excellent presentation and analytical skills are also important, as is being business savvy. Mr Green encouraged chartered accountants from Britain or Australia, or chartered institute of management accountants with Big Four backgrounds and five to eight years of experience in regional financial planning and analysis gained in a multinational environment and at a regional level, and leadership with experience to apply. Long-term career advancement is on the table.
