Clarins Korean makeup artist Jung Sung-min (right) on major trends for autumn and winter:
'This season the major focus is on obtaining a flawless complexion. You need a translucent canvas that illuminates beautiful lip and eye colours. In general, the major components are sexy deep red lips and shimmering blue smoky eyes. It's the result of retro modernism.
'As for eye colours, plums, blue shimmers and greys will be replacing the metallic colours of last year. That's consistent with coming fashion trends. You can mix and match around these colours to create many variations to your look.
'To place more emphasis on the eyes, use a kohl eye pencil all around the eyes. You can apply inside the eye or at the eyelash base. It instantly accentuates and enhances eyes. Lighter tones become even more so while darker tones intensify. It's the secret to unforgettable eyes. Then choose a red hot lipstick for your lips to achieve striking fullness for unlimited seduction. Go for the deep red colours.
'If women only have time to apply one item of makeup before they leave home it should be a lipstick or a lip gloss because it can immediately transform your look. You just can't leave home without it.'
