Hong Kong opens its doors

The 50th UBS Hong Kong Open will also see a first for the historic showpiece - its inaugural international qualifying event. Hopefuls will tee up at the Palm Resort Golf and Country Club in Johor, Malaysia, on November 4 to battle for three slots in the main tournament at Fanling on November 20-23. The Asian and European Tours, who co-sanction the Open, and the Hong Kong Golf Association have all given up an automatic slot in the main draw to accommodate the qualifiers. Domestic qualifying will be held at Kau Sai Chau on November 10-11.
